When playing the PS3 or any other console, it’s quite hard to capture a screenshot or video of your gameplay. Using a camera or some other gadget are your only choices. But what if there would be an in-game feature to record a video of your gameplay and then directly upload it to YouTube?
Sony is experimenting with Web 2.0 (or is it 3.0?) and shared user content with an unlikely game: Mainichi Issyo. The Japan-only PSN download, which has been growing via updates and download content since its launch opposite the PS3 system in late 2006, got an update today that adds the ability to capture, save, and upload gameplay videos.

A Beginners Guide to Car Audio Systems
The first step is to determine what your needs are. If you’re unsure, we will first look at the individual components that make up a complete system.
The Head Unit
AKA Source Unit. This is the most important part of your audio system. The decision you make here will either make or break your system, never mind you hearing.
What to look for in a head unit:

Last week Tom’s Hardware had the opportunity to sit down with Gigabyte’s technical team in Taiwan and discuss motherboards, energy efficiency and the competition. Gigabyte’s technical team wasted no time in jumping into charts, benchmarks and comparisons with its main competitor, Asus. Gigabyte’s technical manager spent time comparing several motherboards from both Gigabyte and Asus, specifically those that claim good power to performance efficiency ratios.

Cell, the multi-threaded multi-core chip from Sony, IBM and Toshiba will be manufactured on 45nm process, from 90nm and 65nm since launch.
The 45nm Cell will use about 40 percent less power than its 65nm predecessor, and its die area will be reduced by 34 percent. The greatly reduced power budget will cut down on the amount of active cooling required by the console, which in turn will make it cheaper to produce and more reliable (this means fewer warrantied returns). Also affecting Sony’s per-unit cost is the reduction in overall die size. A smaller die means a smaller, cheaper package; it also means that yields will be better and that each chip will cost less overall.

Techgage writes:
Game development commentaries all share a similar goal, to tell you exactly how much effort is going into the game, to help amp you up. Racing game developers for one, will brag about how they went to a Porsche manufacturer to study the designs of the cars, to make sure that the game represented the model beautifully. But how many of those developers would be willing to camp out in Africa in order to deliver the ultimate realism?

AnandTech reviews the 12.2MP Digital SLR camera from Canon.
The new XSi, on the other hand, does compete exceptionally well in the entry DSLR space. The 12.2MP sensor, dual Live View, 9-point autofocus, and 3″ LCD make the XSi stand out from the budget SLR crowd. Canon even threw in a Digic III processor with 14-bit A/D conversion for image processing on a par with the 40D. In reality, the XSi needs to be considered the top of the current budget class, and it will compete there with cameras like the Sony A350. The very capable XTi will continue in the Canon line, but it is now positioned as an entry model. The 8MP Canon XT is dropped from the line, making 10MP the new starting point for Canon DSLRs.

Coming soon?
Mark these words, computer graphics processors in the not too distant horizon are poised to make a big leap in technology, much more than we’ve grown used to seeing over the last several years. Oh yes, good days are ahead for PC gamers. Perhaps the leap will be enough to put some distance between PC and console games so that it’ll actually worthwhile again to purchase the PC version instead for those who own both.

TechCrunch writes about:
Microsoft’s dramatic decision this weekend to withdraw its offer for Yahoo and not pursue a hostile bid raises a whole host of questions. What happens to Yahoo now? What happens to Microsoft? Or is this just a tactic to drive down the price of Yahoo’s shares so that Microsoft can go hostile with a lower offer? And if the deal really is dead, does Steve Ballmer need to start looking for a new job?
